INDIGENOUS WORKFORCE SUMMITT

WELCOMING INDUSTRY AND COMMUNITY LEADERS, AND EMPLOYERS FROM ALL JOB MARKETS

Community leaders, businesses, and employers joined the Athabasca Tribal Council and the Fort McMurray Construction Association for this innovative, collaborative summit to engage and support the increase of the Indigenous workforce in all industries, sectors, and job markets.

Attendees were invited to be part of the solution to break the barriers faced by Indigenous people wanting to join the workforce. The summit promoted mutual learning, identify employment support and training programs, and worked to help employers tap into the Indigenous labour force, improving supply and demand needs in the labour market.
