ATC-Off-Reserve-Education-Social

Urban and Off-Reserve Covid-19 Emergency Fund

Athabasca Tribal Council (ATC) received funding from the “Urban and Off-Reserve Covid-19 Emergency Fund” from Indigenous Services Canada. A condition of the funding is that it is limited to members who do not ordinarily reside on-reserve.

Funding was to be distributed directly to members and any remaining funds were to be used to support First Nation student education for Off-Reserve members by providing laptop computers to support education programs and employment training.

From December 2020 through February 2021, ATC distributed funds to Off-Reserve members either directly or though First Nations administration.

ATC Off-Reserve COIVD-19 Laptop Program

ATC is now opening the application process for eligible ATC members from across Canada to apply to receive a laptop to support students enrolled for courses as of September 2021.

A limited number of laptops will be provided to applicants who meet the criteria outlined in the application process. As the verification of applications takes place, ATC reserves the right to close or open the application process to ensure all approved applicants receive laptops and all laptops will be distributed to those that meet the criteria. Households are limited to 1 laptop, due to the limited supply available. If additional laptops are required, the household will be placed on a waitlist.
