Building Maintenance Tradesperson

We are excited to announce that, in partnership with the federal government, we are recruiting for a Building Maintenance Tradesperson position at the Willow Cree Healing Lodge, located on Beardy’s & Okemasis’ First Nation land in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan.

Position Details:

  • Location: Duck Lake, SK – Willow Cree Healing Lodge

  • Tenure: Permanent

  • Salary: $35.08 to $38.03 per hour (including allowances) + Government Pension benefits

  • Location on Reserve Land - Tax free potential for First Nation People 

Role Overview:

The Building Maintenance Tradesperson will:

  • Perform corrective and preventative general maintenance tasks.

  • Engage in construction work and minor vehicle servicing.

  • Handle duties in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, masonry, and more.

  • Train offenders in various maintenance activities to support their skill development.

  • Serve as a relief officer in maintenance shops when necessary.

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

  • Secondary School Diploma or GED.

  • A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test, or a mix of education, training, and experience.

Experience:

  • Building operation, repair, and maintenance experience.

  • Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Respect for Indigenous cultures, ceremonies, and protocols.

  • Integrity, teamwork, strategic thinking, and action-oriented.

  • Safety-conscious with strong oral and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Reliability status security clearance.

  • Physically able to lift at least 50 lbs (physical test may be required).

  • Valid provincial driver’s license.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime.
