Raphael Cree Boat Launch in Waterways
A sacred fire will be lit at 8:00am and supported by local Elders and firekeepers all day. Anyone—Indigenous, friend, ally, or supporter—who would like to come by and make an offering, say a prayer, or show support to the local families and communities impacted is welcome. Tobacco will be available if you do not have your own to offer.
The Indigenous women and girls who have gone missing or have been murdered from Wood Buffalo region will not be forgotten.
For those that cannot attend, put tobacco down on the earth, put a candle on your step, hang a red dress in your yard, and say prayers for stolen sisters to find their way home.
We recognize families and communities are impacted by Missing & Murdered loved ones.
We acknowledge the pain of your grieving journeys.
Today and every day, we offer our prayers and our support.
