STRENGTHENING OUR TRADITIONAL KNOWLEDGE


LEARN TRADITIONS FROM OUR ELDERS IN THIS HANDS-ON LAND-BASED LEARNING PROGRAM.

Open to First Nation, Métis, and Inuit residents of Fort Chipewyan ages 14-29 to help sustain their culture for the future.

Learn the traditions related to food gathering, preparing, and preserving with the guidance of Elders. 

Upon successful completion of the program, the students will be able to apply their knowledge on the land and pursue careers in land-based learning. 

Training will include:

  • Career Planning Workshop

  • Wildlife Awareness

  • Canadian Firearms Safety Course

  • Alberta Trappers Association

  • Wilderness & Remote First Aid

  • Pleasure Craft Training
