Sixth Sense Self Defence will provide 6-weeks of instruction about using physical self-defence as a last resort, being self-aware, and personal protection from harassment, sexual assault, violence, and sex trafficking!
Week 4 – Confidence – Self-worth is an inside job.
This week we breakdown what Confidence is and how it can increase our personal safety. We review our path and the steps we have taken to date by using our sixth sense, our level of awareness and the responsible choices we make in life. These steps build self trust and greater confidence. This incremental approach to personal boundary setting and self-defence adds to the foundation for our greater protection. The more confident we are, the better our boundaries will become and the better our boundaries the more confident we become.
We will explore individual physical ability to enforce a boundary, which can use a verity of techniques, experiences and perhaps
most importantly our mindset. Mindset, motive, and control are all aspects required to set, hold and enforce a boundary. The belief that you are worth protecting is key.
In week four we dive-in to our individual life experience and reflect on how guilt, shame and judgment can sabotage our confidence
and ability to set boundaries. We will build our confidence by first recognizing and appreciating our resilience and adaptability.
Self-confidence is a feeling of self-assurance arising from appreciation of one’s own abilities and qualities. It is a positive reflection of how and what you believe about yourself and can create an inner calm, surety and inner trust. Trauma and experiences contribute to shaping our confidence and can make us feel stronger or weaker. This week we discuss a plan for building youth confidence as we
reflect on what contributed or disrupted our own. As we further uncover our limiting beliefs, we discover how we may have
sabotaged opportunities and relationships, if we didn’t feel worthy or deserving of them. We work to transform these experiences into new inner wisdom and strength, so we can help ourselves and others feel a greater sense of safety and self-worth.
